Girringun is the name of an ancestral creator who determined the marriage and hunting lore of Warangnu, Jirrbal, Warrgamay and Girramay peoples. These people maintain a strong connection with country.

The shield / sword represents Girringun Rainforest people.

The circles represent the campfires and gathering of the nine Girringun Traditional Owner groups.

The lines signify traditional country of the nine Girringun Traditional Owner groups.

The path through the middle of the emblem represents Girringun passing through country.
